Looks interesting, but I wonder why they put the side access on the right side. Maybe Clik Elite's product designer is a southpaw.

That's what I'm happy about.. this seems to be the only manufacturer make it on the right side, I mean 'right' side for me, :). I turned to use my right shoulder to sling, so that's perfect for me!

Do you need any photos?

Indeed, there's no perfect bag to my knowledge, some bag can meet your need will be HUGE and BULKY, which you are not expecting for sports. I've go through the process.

Especially, the tripod thing, I've given up to find a sport bag can hold a heavy tripod on center-line, try to buy a CF tripod is a good way to go.

I don't think anyone is allowed to turn down an offer of photos on this forum. ;)

True that there's never one perfect bag, which is probably why I have four or five at the moment, and going onto the sixth...

As for getting a sport bag, I should clarify that when I say cycling around, I mean using a bike in an urban setting for product and lifestyle photography. I'm not going mountain biking with this thing. But, weight is still important to me, and I have a carbon tripod to help out in that department (not a huge weight savings really). The reason why the center back mounted tripod is preferable to me isn't because of the distribution of weight, but just because of my arms knocking stuff strapped to the side. Not a big deal, but if there was a perfect pack...

Got you..
The only perfect one to me is the F-stop kenti.. Seems to meet all of our need (I found we have a lot of same requests..)
A perfect one would be, light weight, laptop friendly, has an upper compartment for personal stuff, big enough for a pro-body with 70-200 attached, plus 3-4 lenses, side access, gear compartment opens to the back, centerlined tripod carrier..

Nobody ever made this! How could??
I'm going to design one and sell..

Seriously, checkout Dakine Quest, the one I nearly pulled the triger, once went down to $147, pretty decent bag. You may can attach your tripod to the keeper which is designed for skateboard to hold the tripod.

Good luck, I will try to take some photos.

You can put a standard zoom, a small prime, a big prime and a flash in the lower apartment, and put eh 70-200 f2.8 on top

BTW, you can check out Vanguard Skyborne 45/48, if you don't mind the weight/ looking, that's the best backpack so far IMO, meets all the need I listed above.

Thanks for the pics. How easy is it to remove the camera? It looks like a tight fit width wise.

Those Vanguards look to be almost perfect, but sure do look hefty. Also, hard to find much info on them, and their website isn't very helpful. Thanks for turning me on to those. I'll have to do some research.

After buying the Lowepro Slingshot 102AW I was so impressed with the design I decided very shortly after to also buy the Lowepro Fastpac 350. This back pack has the same style of access as the smaller slingshot but more importantly is classed as hand luggage size so I can use it as my hand luggage when going on holiday. It has a zipped compartment for a laptop / net book and plenty of space for camera, lenses and accessories. It is very comfortable when worn for long walks with lots of weight in it. In my opinion it's great. Down side, and I have to be honest it's not a show stopper is that there is no built in waterproof cover. Which is very handy here in Scotland at the moment. Lowepro do not make one as an accessory and local walking and hiking shops rucksack covers are either far to big or just to neat.

kind of tight, but in terms of pulling th camera out, it's no problem.

Yeah, Vanguards seems to be great. There are some reviews on the net, also you can search youtube I believe there are some very good video about it.

F-stop Kenti is a killer for now, but it is said the gatekeeper (used fro ski board or tripod) will be out of stock until 2013... so... also, it's a bit pricy..

That does indeed look like it has lots of nice features, but I'm wary of buying generic products from ebay. I'll see if maybe there's some feedback on the forums somewhere.

Yeah, the eBay bag looks like a very close knock-off of the Tamrac bags, right down to the color-coded red/blue tabs on the shoulder straps.

Thanks ceegee, that pack looks promising. Funny that the post above yours looks like a total knockoff of the Tamrac. Good enough to warrant a copy eh? Which size do you have, and how does it feel on your back when it's all loaded up?

See an earlier thread about bags for my description of the Tamrac Evolution 8. I've got the bag a bit over-loaded (all the equipment listed below is in the bag), and it's OK to carry as a sling for hours at a time. I rarely use it as a backpack, but it's really nice to have the option.

Man, unlucky timing! Lowepro released an updated version of their Fastpacs with rain covers built in and tripod mounts included.

Nice review. Thanks for pointing me towards it. The Tamrac is in the running for sure.

Thanks, unfortuanately if we waited for the next version of everything, we would never buy anything. I am still very very happy with my purchases. Happy snapping all.

I got my Brenthaven BX2 backpack yesterday, so I haven't had a lot of time with it. First impressions are that the foam on the shell is very nice, almost like a higher-density memory foam, though it's surprisingly lightweight and somewhat rigid. It's tall enough to accommodate my gripped T3i with ease (it would even fit easily with the QR base plate.) The dividers are easily removed and repositioned, though I haven't needed to do anything but remove one to fit the body with a telephoto.

A couple of small gripes:
There aren't any small, netted pockets for something like SD or CF cards.
The rain cover is a separate piece (I like the built-in rain flies on the LowePro bags)

As I mentioned before, I've owned several Brenthaven laptop cases and backpacks and have been very happy with them. If anyone has specific questions, feel free to ask me in this thread (I'll try to follow it) or PM me.
