In a somewhat ironical twist, I was published without my consent or credit earlier this year in Aprap Magazine, a joint magazine published by The Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) in conjunction with Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (AMCOS).

The mission statement of APRA/AMCOS:

The Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) collects and distributes licence fees for the public performance and communication of our members' musical works. The Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (AMCOS) collects and distributes mechanical royalties for the reproduction of our members' musical works.

Obviously, that mantra on copyright doesn't include photographers?

Here's the shot as it went to print:

And here's the shot as I took it:

Here's the cover of Aprap Issue 1 for 2012 (published 3 times a year) should you be looking to hunt it down.

Oh, the irony…

And they also mutilated the crop…
Did you contact/invoice them?

On closer inspection, the guys (Tracer) more than likely included this shot in the EPK and at the very least I should have been given a credit for the use.

Still, you would have thought APRA would follow the correct guidelines! If they don't, who will?!
