I recently went out to shoot the milky way for the first time, I did a timelapse with my camera and borrowed a friends for the trip to shoot stills while the lapse was going on.
I did different types of shots all night - light painting, natural light, and stacks. I noticed quite a difference in detail when I threw together my stack (which was expected) thanks to all that noise reduction. However, given the movement of the stars, I am trying to figure out how to be able to shoot with a foreground subject and stack, and possibly combine exposures to fix the foreground. When I've had subjects before the stack in DSS got a little screwed up, so if anyone has any advice on this I'd love to hear it for my next time out...
Here is a stack I took with 14 lights and 10 darks (If i remember correctly) and a individual shot with a foreground subject that I lightpainted. I'd love to somehow get a stack and get that same foreground the next time I head out or something of the like...
