My beanpole in action

Couple of pics of me my cat, my beanpole and camera rig in action.
The beanpole is gripped in my Left hand alongwith the flash bracket handle. (someone asked me how I use the bean pole )

Who'd a thunk it Great use of a bean pole.... much cooler than just using it for beans LOL Your cat seems to wonder what in the heck you are doing..LOL

The cat is good company in the garden- keeps on ambushing me - apart from the fact he likes chasing bugs.

No I admit it I was posing- by the time I had prised my son away from his computer the sun has gone in and the flies had gone too. I was focusing on a bud honest- this is actually the camelia bush that all my recent fly etc shots have been from- it's the only bush in the garden that gets several hours of sun.
Someone on another forum asked me to demonstrate bean pole shooting so I thought I might as well post them here .

Still haven't figured a way to put a macro stage on the bean pole
but as you can see it takes about 1 sec to set up to any height or position. I even use it when kneeling down- it helps me get up again

Wow that's a job and a half. Heavy weapons, but the capture is worth it I bet.

I wouldnt mind having one of those if it helped me get up again.

You could get into production of them and market them as - LordV camera bean poll - ( buy 2 and get a set of steak knives free)

Cool Brian, thanks for sharing your technique. I think I will still stick to my tripod, even though it does restrict my placement of the camera.

I suspect someone with an engineering background could knock up an improved version where the flash bracket actually locks onto the pole via a rotating lockable gimble of some type, but the main thing is that it works at least for me. When I first started shooting near 2:1 I was only getting around 20% of the shots usable now I'm back up to my normal 80 to 90% using the pole.

thank you for the demo. I was wondering how you connected the outer shutter trigger to the camera's shutter system ..
