Hi all. I am looking to buy a new small compact camera that I can take to concerts and take photos in lowlight conditions without running up the iso up. I have a great DSLR but as most know you can't take photos at most shows with pro cameras. So I am using a sd960 is but it isnt cutting the cake, any suggestions? Thanks in advance....carlos

You have a DSLR so you know what is possible and running the ISO up is unavoidable. The S100 is about the size of your 960 but with a f2 lens (at wide end) a 1/1.7 cmos sensor, a 24 to 120 equiv zoom, full manual, raw shooting, and is about as good as it gets for low light performance for a P&S. The zoom is short and slow at tele end (f5.9) but with some good noise reduction plugins it should work. "Canon says the new sensor employs technology similar to that used in its EOS SLRs, including an on-chip noise cancellation system". Or you could wait for the EOS M

also check out the sony rx-100. it has a f1.8 lens with a massive sensor compared to most point and shoots. if you want zooms, then check out the new panasonic super zoom with a fixed f2.8 through out the zoom range.
