Canon A95, F4.9, 1/60 with flash on. Selected "macro" option on camera and zoomed in from about 14 inches away. Lighting was the kitchen incandecent above and built-in flash head-on.
How can I improve flash performance on a Point and Shoot?

Hi Pat, One of our members (Megaweb) is a whiz at getting great macros with both an A70 and A95 with a reversed lens.
Here's a link to one of His posts, https://photography-on-the.net …t=50124&highlight=Megaweb
And here's a link to His site where He shows how He made His set up.

Hope this helps to answer your questions. :D

Thanks Bruce!!Great site with a good explanation of how he got those great shots. I recently tried a reversed Minolta 50 mm with the lens and camera held with separate hands--very unhandy!! I have posted two pics of a stamp and the star of the flag on the stamp. I need to try the reversed set-up on these rings to see how much additional detail can be acheived. Thanks for your help and encouragement.

You're very welcome Pat. :D A good place to look for a lens adapter for your A95 is www.lensmateonline.com (external link) You can pick up an adapter with threads on the filter end from them, then its just a matter of picking up a reversing ring with male threads on both sides so you can screw your reverse mounted 50mm lens onto the end of your A95's lens, leaving one hand free for other stuff. ;)
