Just my second timelapse attempt and I thought I would try to get some meteors. After joking with the other photogs I was with that once I stopped shooting a meteor would fly thru my FOV I stopped shooting and I kid you not, as I turned away just 4 seconds after I stopped my intervalometer everyone yelled "WHOA!!!" I thought they were messing with me but I saw a long smoke trail right where I was shooting. :(

I processed the images and noticed that while I missed the large meteor, just above the house/windmill there seems to be something moving from right to left that explodes into many pieces. Was this a meteor, or space junk perhaps? I was hoping those with more experience can tell me what I'm seeing. I don't know anything about astronomy yet, but I'm having fun nonetheless!

Very nice TL, it's a shame you didn't keep shooting.

Thanks guys, next time I'll make a longer one and incorporate some camera movement as well! Was anyone able to see what I was talking about and identify what exploded?

Hard to tell. I am analyzing my time lapse frames as well, and see lots of strange stuff in them. It's hard to put them together in a way that demonstrates what I see.
