Hope this is the correct subforum for this.....shot this last night in my front yard, this spider built this web between 2 Dogwood trees about chest high.
I used a flashlight to set focus and a 580exii on ground firing up and a 430ex firing into the web. Wish the spider was more in focus and not blown out sorta...but I like it!:D

I like how the web is isolated in space, I'd say this turned out quite well!

^^Terrific...I love how the light catches the web, and the black background is very effective.

Growing old disgracefully!

Thanks everyone...the wife was laughing at me because I was out in the front yard moving flashes all over the place. She was on the phone with her dad joking about it and when I got the shot, she was surprised...she said, "Wow, he actually got it!"

Very nice capture.

These guys are very efficient with their web building. I was working late in a friends shop one night, and one of these weavers made a web between the top of the truck we were working on.......and the opening to the garage door. In about ~10 minutes, the spider finished the web. It was very impressive to see the coordination it had. Also when it made a complete loop and started the next row, it would actually skip down 3-4 rows and pull the web up and refasten it......to put tension on the web. Pretty cool.

I still hate spiders though. :)
