Canon EOS 20D, 28-90mm, ISO800

Hi All,

As this is our daughters first christmas we have decided to use this image of her I took as prints for xmas presents for family.

What do you think?? I'm still learning where to position the lights (2x500w continuous lights with silver reflective umbrellas) but I'm pretty happy with the result.

Merry Christmas

Rob

Really nice!
You could probably crop the sides a little tighter.

Beautiful shot but it has a yellow cast, would you mind if I posted a slight edit?

Hi Chris,

Post away, I did shoot these in JPEG so I could get them printed up today with minimum of post processing, the only thing I did in PS was crop. I do normally shoot in RAW then spend some time on my images in PS.

Regards

Rob

Hey Rob,

Once again it's a beautiful shot. The first one is the original. Second just has a curves adjustment.

Chris

Edit...The second one turned out a little grainy, when I saved it I saved as a jpeg 9 and it said it was to big to upload, so I just saved it as a jpeg 8. I should have redone it and saved it the right way.

Hi Rob,

This is indeed a treasured shot and I'm sure your family will be very pleased with it

I hope you don't mind but I have also made a minor adjustment or two to reduce the yellow cast a little.

After adjusting the curves a little (I'm afraid I forgot to note the values) and altering the colour balance to -9, 0, +16, I used PS's despeckle filter to reduce the noise that the adjustments brought out. With this being a scaled version it has given the image a slightly 'painted' effect but with the same adjustments on the full size image this shouldn't be so apparent.

KO

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to add that after colour balance adjustments I added a cyan photo filter at 25%

Hi m8,

My wife knows Kath as do I, but it was my wife who spotted you, I don't know you but she does, she is Amanda from darts and Natwest.

Considering the amount of people who log on here and how many different countries there are for us to bump into each other is pretty amazing!!

Hi All,
Looking at the original in PS it has no yellow cast. Is it possible that by submitting to the web it has caused the yellow cast????

Regards

Rob
