Hermitude @ Rocket, March ’12

I found myself stuck and not really able to do anything too exciting when shooting Hermitude at Rocket recently.

The lighting was terrible and Hermitude brought a projector which made it even harder to frame a shot with even lighting.

Difficult circumstances and it doesn't look like there was much action going on…

In cases like this, I usually revert to off camera flash and create my own lighting

That's my plan of attack, but only if I know the band and they are ok with flashes on stage - in this instance i don't know Hermitude

ha good to hear I'm not the only one that has had a hard time with these electronic acts with minimal lighting and a giant projection screen behind them! These still look quite good though, I wouldn't be complainomg at all

yeah when i hit one of these shows I try to get shots i wouldn't normally think of - the sketchy lighting kinda pushes you in a different direction which is cool sometimes!
