I am looking for a bag smaller than my Crumpler 5MDH that fits just my 5D2 or 50D w/strap, and 40mm STM. Preferably it'd have a rain cover or be very water resistant. I would like something that is easy to bring with me on my bicycle or motorcycle.

I was looking at something along the lines of the Lowepro Apex 100 AW.

Do you guys think this would be too small? Any other ideas?

Not gripped.

I was hoping for something smaller than the 4mdh. Even that Domke looks a big bigger than what I'd really like. Hmmm...

Bear in mind, you want the bag to be loose-fitting enough that it isn't a struggle to get your camera out.

If you can swing it, a Billingham Digital Hadley? Nice, small, stylish and discreet. A Billingham L2 works too, but its slightly bigger.

Anything designed for just the 5D body can fit the body with 40mm attached. It's THAT small. When I have a modular with me for a waist pack... I don't even bother taking off the lens.

My Billingham Hadley Digital carries my d300s with grip attached, and 18-200VR mounted. it's tight, but works.
I bought it because it's waterproof, and small. Great for walk-around....

I found the HDigital NEEDS a shoulder strap pad. I dropped mine when I hurried with it slung from my right shoulder; cost me a filter. Could have been much worse. Cost here in Canada was less than a Think Tank Retro5...our TT prices are higher than the US.

Do you want a bag that has great protection, or a bag that is easy to shoot from?

I find my Domke's are the easiest bags to shoot from; Billingham are great shooter bags too. The Hadley Digital has some padding, and I find the cover more secure than the cover on my Domke 3X-ruggedwear.
