While ff cameras are no doubt better for weddings I hoped some of the people who use their cheaper smaller cropped cousins could post to show how good they can be. We are always told its not the camera. Please post!

Not a wedding pro here but I've shot 7 weddings ... 5 of which were shot with my "OLD" Canon 10D (one with my 5D, one with the 7D) and I was very happy with the results as were the bride, groom and their family. One wedding was my wife's niece (first wedding I shot) and she has had many of the shots printed at 8x10 or larger, framed and hang on the walls of their new home. Kind of get a kick out of going to their house ... it's like having my own art show! (she won't allow me to open it up to the public :( )
Anyway ... if you understand the differences between full frame and crop and can compesate for the differences, (which to me seem minor) you should be able to get great results with any type of body!

(was looking for some examples to post but they are on my other computer, so will try to post some later on!)

There are enough ff vs crop threads here and around the net, I only started this thread to see crop sensor wedding photos as they are seemingly rarer than ff wedding shots. If you dont agree with my statement an why larger sensors with bigger photosites that catch more light with less noise, then that is fine.

I meant to add a few to start the thread but then realized i could not do so with my phone. thanks to those who added some photos

This was a 'goof up' (dragging the shutter in Av when I shoulda been in M) but it turned out to be the B&G's favorite shot:
(Canon Rebel XSi + EF-S 17-55 mm f/2.8 IS USM + Canon 580 EX II Flash @ f/2.8, .8 sec., ISO 200)

IMAGE: http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg267/acyogi/Weddings/Billy%20and%20JC/IMG_3056.jpg

Like always, the results will depend on the skill (or lack thereof in this case) of the photographer and not the equipment, but I feel that in the right hands, the APS-C cameras can do weddings just fine.

Canon EOS 7D | EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM | EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS |
EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM | 250D | EF-S 10-22 mm f/3.5-4.5 USM | 580 EX II |

You'll probably find the opposite true if you actually look. Since crop cameras are generally less expensive, you should find more of those everywhere...including wedding photographers' bags.

The real "problem" is in day to day use and without comparing side by side or asking...you just can't tell the difference. In other words, you're probably looking at more crop images than you realize.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

FF or Crop doesn't matter what/where you're shooting, use the lens that gets you the composition you want. I shot a few weddings with my 40D.
