For those of you in the world of Wedding Cinematography, have you ever filmed one solo with no second shooter and/or assistant?

I have to say that it was an intense 8 hour experience, but overall, a very successful shoot! Of course I was very limited on creating more dynamic shots, i.e., slider, steadicam, etc, because I was more concerned about not missing any important highlights of the day.

Let me know what you guys think.

Also, I ef'ed up on the audio recording, so that's why it's only coming out of the right speaker. Lesson learned.

Thanks!

If audio plays only one side of stereo speakers you needed to interpret the audio recording as Mono so it would simply play that one channel equally on two stereo channels (L and R).

I used the 561BHDV Manfrotto Monopod. I still have issues keeping that thing steady for a long period of time even with three contact points, lol.

Did you only give them the 4 minute film or did you do a full edit of the day?

We normally film a wedding in a team of 2 but have worked in larger crews but feel 2 filming is the right number we tend to use a 5d3 locked off on its own to give us a 3rd shot / safety shot.

I am sure its possible to film a wedding on your own as long as you have a number of other camera set up or only do a "TV" edit, showing the highlights out of sequence.
