Minolta actually has some killer glass of there own.. including all the standard high demand focal lengths.

There web site is soo ridiculous though that it's nearly impossible to find them;

It all seems a little over priced too,..

On the UK site they list 2 lenses and 2 TCons :lol: :lol:

US site is a different story, you're right. Very nice looking gear for sure! Wow. Actually beautiful design sensibility.

Is this what it looks like? It's about this size right?

QUOTED IMAGE

:lol: The "Doomsday Machine" - Good name for it. The birds will see that thing from afar and know that their image will get sucked in to its awesome aperture!

I'm thinking maybe Minolta are not going to keep up in the DSLR market. They're dependant on 3rd party lenses and unless we're offered a decent range of lenses then the body has no future. I'm going to keep tabs on them tho' for the exact reason you state.

Konica/Minolta have withdrawn from the digital camera market in Canada. Could this be a preview of the future for the whole company? The Canadian market is certainly not the most lucrative market in the world, but if they can't compete here, how long will they be able to compete in the rest of the world.

I hope this is wrong. Minolta has always brought out innovative film and digital cameras and provide and incentive to C & N to keep innovating. Also, Konica used to make good film SLR's and lenses(I used them), but failed to make the jump to auto focus when it came out. I hope Konica hasn't merged with Minolta just in time to miss the jump to digital.

Very impressive :D
Congrats on your latest acquisition.

So what are your plans regarding the EF 1200/5.6 now (otherwise there's not much left to interest you, right :lol: )

Best regards,
Andy

I too just purchased this lens. I will be getting it Friday. I am going to focus on Bird and wild life photography this year. This lens will do the trick for this type of work. I can't wait.

Congratulations!!! And don't forget to wear back support when lugging this monster around.

That 100% crop is quite amazing.
