hmmmm...

The earliest I have on my PC is 1.0.3 ... so that may very well be the one. I'll have to give it a try!
But some research on the WEB I found that 1.0.2 was a downlaodable update as well...

It's very possible my Camera (one of the first delivered to B&H) had 1.0.1 installed...
Still 1.0.2 is worth a try.

CDS,

My 1dm2 was on V1.0.2 when I first tried it and it couldn't AF with the Sigma 1.4x on the Sigmonster. I have since upgraded the FW to 1.2.4 and still no AF.

I'd be interested too in getting it to AF at f/8, hope you find a fix.

I just got my Sigmonster Friday. I have not had time to shoot any pictures yet. I am wondering why the autofocus stops working with the extenders.

That's an interesting question since the 1D2 does allow AF at f/8. But more interesting is the fact that Sigma, in their website, states that the 300-800 with the 1.4X TC attached becomes a 420-1120 f/8 MF lens. Maybe it's not the 1D2 firmware but the lens itself that's disabling the AF when the TC is used.

Hmmm, maybe would be an idea to check it out with one of the Tamron 1.4x tcons that don't transfer the information that the tcon is attached...

Best regards,
Andy

LiquidStone has reported elsewhwere that he can use a Tamron el~ Cheapo and it does AF...

Pac Ace,.see the last few posts in the T-con sticky for more info on Sigma 1D AF with T-con issue. Some assumptions are being made on my part regarding the relationship between the Sigmponster 300-800mm and the same issue wit the Sigma 500mm...

The assumption being that my 1D and my 1D MkII with original firmware,. bith would AF with the Sigam 500mm f/4.5 EX and a 1.4X T-con.

Later,. suddenly the 1D MkII would not AF with that combo.. and this same story has been repeated at least half a dozen times to my knowledge by others. (others on this forum even)

The working theory is a Canon frimware upgrade "knocked out" the use of AF with 1.4X t-con and the Sigma 500mm.

Meanwhile 1D classic bodies DO AF with the Sigma 500mm and 1.4X

With the 500mm anywya,. it may be a Sigma issue,. but only the MkII listens to the Sigma's complaints,. the MkI just goes on autofocusing as it should.

Only way to tell for sure if the issue is identical would be to get a 1D "classic" hooked up to a Sigmonster and 1.4X and see what happens.

Anyone in the Rhode Island Area with a 1D?
