I've seen people ask for model and property releases. I've never seen anyone ask for an example of a print release... the photog granting permission for their client to print photos as needed.

Does anyone have one they can share?

I'm presuming it should be specific to the individual(s), and not generic.

I've had to write these for folks going to Costco, Walmart, etc, when they get asked if they have the photographer's approval to print the image. I don't have a canned letter, I just write it up at the time, something like:

I am the photographer that owns the copyright on this image "img_1234.jpg", and I have allowed permission for Mary Smith to have prints made of this image.

Signed.

That seems to do the trick.

I had to create one last month for the first time, never had anyone have problems before then.

Here is my rather generic one: https://www.dropbox.com …OTO%20PRINT%20RELEASE.pdf (external link)

All of my clients have printing rights at the moment so having this so generic works for me.
