Aug 25, 2012 23:34 | #2 Pretty cool! I do think this would have been more eye catching as a color photo, but that is just my opinion. ~Kira~

Croasdail making stuff up More info | Aug 26, 2012 00:25 | #5 I don't know... I am kind of liking the tons and textures of the B/W version. Seeing the color photo, not sure I would have even taken the photo seeing how it "really is". Might have slowed down the shutter speed to draw even more contrast to what looks like elephant skin dirt. But all in all... I really do like the B/W better.

rrblint Listen! .... do you smell something? More info | Definitely B&W is the way to go, and yes, next time slow down the shutter to blur the water...Good shot though. Mark

I did think about slowing the shutter for that affect, unfortunately I didn't have a tripod on me at the time. Canon EOS Rebel T3i

Croasdail making stuff up More info | Aug 26, 2012 00:37 | #8 you didn't need one. 1/30th or even 1/15th should have been be able to capture the blur, and with the right holding technique, very much hand holdable. And if you can't bring a tripod, improvise. A steady partners shoulder works really well in a pinch for these shutter speeds.

Starks Member 42 posts Joined Jun 2012 Location: Asheville, NC More info | Lower perspective, dynamic water, more crop for focus....damn hard to argue with Steve's C+C. I like the B+W shot, maybe crop the top and add some contrast etc to bring out the different points of rock creating the water path? 7D / 1D MKIIN / 50D / 60D / 100L / 70-200 2.8 ISL IS / 2X EF II / 18-135 / Tokina 11-16 / Tammy 17-50 and 18-270 PZD / 580EX II / Lumix GF-1 / Nikon AW100
