Pretty cool! I do think this would have been more eye catching as a color photo, but that is just my opinion.

I agree, I was sifting through some photos trying out some B&W techniques. Here is the Color photo..

I don't know... I am kind of liking the tons and textures of the B/W version. Seeing the color photo, not sure I would have even taken the photo seeing how it "really is". Might have slowed down the shutter speed to draw even more contrast to what looks like elephant skin dirt. But all in all... I really do like the B/W better.

Definitely B&W is the way to go, and yes, next time slow down the shutter to blur the water...Good shot though.

Thanx guys. I did think about slowing the shutter for that affect, unfortunately I didn't have a tripod on me at the time. :o

you didn't need one. 1/30th or even 1/15th should have been be able to capture the blur, and with the right holding technique, very much hand holdable. And if you can't bring a tripod, improvise. A steady partners shoulder works really well in a pinch for these shutter speeds.

Tripod ideal.. but not needed.

Lower perspective, dynamic water, more crop for focus....damn hard to argue with Steve's C+C. I like the B+W shot, maybe crop the top and add some contrast etc to bring out the different points of rock creating the water path?
