Rayman102, you are right about that, but the downside is using a half a tank of gas to get there and back.

No, the sun rises on the eastern side of the island and the Waianae mountain range to the left of me would keep you from getting from the sun from that location until late morning or early afternoon. One of the more popular spots for the sunrise is Lanikai beach.

It seems like some of the beaches up there are, a little less traveled and a little less photogenic than some of the spots South of Diamondhead. Not totally untrue statements, but we can apply that to many places in the world today.
