I like the 100 mm Macro lens, although with 65 mm of extension tubes your working distance is about 6 inches. You may be use to a much greater worker distance such as the Tamron gave you. It is a extremely sharp lens, although it is heavy, my setup takes a major effort to take into the field. I have been spending more time with my telephoto and since the bird are in abundance during the winter, I have a ready supply of subjects. I will get back to macro work this Spring when the beasts come back.
