The Sharpness canal runs parallel with the river Severn. In the 1960s they scuppered a number of boats along the banks of the Severn to help prevent the river eroding the banks and reaching the canal. The Severn estuary (Bristol Channel) has the second largest tidal range in the world so there is a lot of erosion here.

I took these on a walk today using my Fuji X10 and converted them with Lightroom 4 & Silver Efex.

Great series of abandoned ships from our past. When film was the memory storage I shot 10 rolls of B&W to eash roll of color negative or color positive ( slide)

I found a website that gives a lot of information about the graveyard including what they know about the ships beached here. There are 81 ships along the shore and they started beaching them in 1909 and obviously the boats were a lot older than that. There is a schooner there built in 1854.

I think I will pay the place another visit and take the 60D.

Very Nice Andrew. I'd love to see some head-to-heads of the X10 vs 60D w/15-85. I bet that P&S will hang much closer to the Canon for these kinds of shots than many people would expect.
