I found this old M/C lens in the Shed so I decided to clean it up and get a M42.mm adaptor for it , it had an auto pin only, no manual set, so I made a small plate to hold the pin in and screwed it into the rear plate on lens, it worked and is OK on the closeups, shots at F11, yet to try at F1.8.. the larger flower shot lost a lot in posting. EW.

Neat adapation and excellent shots- could you get m42 fit extension tubes for it?

Brian, I used the Kenko tubes on these shots, the flowers was only 30mm across, the M42 tubes are not needed, Shot on M on 300D and manual aperture, with Flash. EW.

That's interesting- does the m42 adapter communicate at all with the EOS body?
If I try putting a non communicating lens on my Extension tubes, it gives an error99.

Brian, I didn't have any problem with the 300D, I had to use Manual mode and it still read the exposure speed in view finder, only aperture didn't show. a bit of trial and error. EW.

Very good results Beeclose, I think your trail and error is working.

These are very nice Beeclose. Your exposures look right on, and show good detail. :D
I have a growing collection of M42 lenses myself, and I LOVE taking them out to play.

Brian, Yes, various manufacturers have made extension tubes in M42 mount. Mine were made by Vivitar. ;)
I use either aperture priority or manual to shoot the M42 lenses.
BTW, M42 Bellows work with the EOS DSLR's very well via adapters.
