Time to add a new stable mate (lens), primarily for use on the 5DIII.
If you had the lenses in my Sig, what would your next purchase be? and why?
IQ and sharpness is a priority for me, I shoot any category and love trying and learning new styles, but I would like to hear your reasons why your choice would suit you.

35L

A perfect shorter walk around prime with great IQ. The TS-E24 is no walkaround prime I think.

TS-E24 f/3.5LII | EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS II

Daaaamn sweet glass already. Well yes, a 35L would seem like a nice fit in there, if you want a prime. If you think you're not going to be using it wide-open often, maybe wait for the 24-70 f/2.8 II, and then you'll have a lens with optics on the level of your 70-200.

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

400mm 2.8 or 17-40 f4. You don't have an UWA lens.

3rd for the 35L. My style would make me want something wider and more versatile than the 24TS you now own. With the ISO capability of the 5DIII, lens speed is less important, unless shallow DOF is what you are after. What I have in my sig is ideal for my shooting style.

There is a lot of love for the 35L might look at this lens a bit more :)
The 400 is not on the short list at this time, my 120-300, so I just can't justify the cost for an extra 100mm.
16-35 II may be....
17-40 probably not, I know I would wonder if I should have bought the 16-35 instead.
24-70 II, I will most likely end up with this lens at some stage, I have held out on getting 24-70 V1 and 24-105 due to it being announced, I have been close to pre-ordering it a few times, but I am holding out to see how well it preforms, especially at F/2.8. @$2500 with out IS it better be as good as all the hype. (I'm thinking I should have bought the 24-105 to use for the past 12 months)

short list = 16-35 vs 35L vs 24-70 II at this stage, I'll check out the sample threads.

bought the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM

Awesome! ... Pics or it didn't happen :D

From a number of old previews and show-floor sample pics, I have gathered the impression that this lens doesn't have CA at any aperture, even wide open on metallic reflections. I would really like to know if that's true.

I have the same trouble as DamianOz. Would you buy another prime or tele zoom?

prime vs zoom, one minute I convince my self to favor primes, then the next day I feel zooms are the more practical option.

The 70-200 is fantastic, and is what I would buy looking at your kit.
6 years ago I bought 70-200 f/2.8 IS V1, at the time it was fantastic, today the V2 kicks its ass, particularly below f/4. I also had the Nifty and a 15 - 55 on a crops camera, the 70-200 was used 80% of the time.

One of the reason I chose the 24-70 as my recent purchase, was its the a new release lens, and less likely to be superseded than other options.
Anyway, somethings to consider.....

Now, onto my next purchase :) hmmmm UWA, 35L 85L macro or may be more lighting
