I'm using CS4 and ACR v5.7 but I want to udate to newer version of ACR to make full use of the VSCO Film presets. I don't want to upgrade from CS4 and the only other option seems to be to purchase one of the latest Elements packages to make use of the newer ACR software, and open the jpegs in CS4 rather than Elements.

Is there another way to get ACR 6 or 7 which is as cost effective? Elements 9 seems to be pretty cheap now.

Lightroom4? Has the dame Raw engine as ACR7. But I don't know whether that works with VSCO…

It does work with VSCO but it would mean re-purchasing the software because they have specific versions for ACR and LR. I'd prefer to stick with ACR for the time being.

If you stick with CS4 you are "stuck" with ACR5.

You can download the trial of Elements 10. That might work, but Elements tend to have a dumbed down version of ACR (Elements 9 on the mac being an exception)
