Congrats Lil, the background on the second shot really pushes the bird out. Very nice!

second shot is fantastic!

Chris, thank you kindly.

2nd shot is awesome. Belted King Fishers have been a big adversary for me so far. They don't like to let me get close at all.

Thanks so very much. I truly thought the first shot was all that would come of this encounter and it was exhilarating. The second shot was a true gift. Is it bad of me to want the opportunity to make a better shot someday?

Drum roll please.... Tada! Congrats Lil, its one thing to get a picture of a bird that has been on a wishlist, but to get it with such image quality is more than satisfying. Superb job!

Jo, Jo, Jo, this thread should not be posted in the same forum as your Kingfisher photography. I truly hope to do better someday. Yours are inspirational for me.

both of your shots are better than I have managed after 4 or so attempts.

your 2nd shot is pretty darn good.
Congrats.

Jeremy, thanks so much. This was my first attempt and believe it or not I was nervous. I truly hope to get better.

I too know how difficult it is to close in on these guys. Good job on #2.

Thank you kindly.

wow! second shot is awesome!

grats on the Belted Kingfisher!
been trying to get one but sadly, my local pond has been drained for dredging...

Al, thank you so very much. Our pond is nearly dried up so the chance to make any shot was even more so special. One thing I've learned from how gracious you all have been; I'm not alone experiencing difficulty with these little dickens!

Very nice shots! Well done! These are still a bucket list bird for me. Some day... :)

I wish many on you soon Vivien. Thank you kindly.

Jay, thank you. The background for the second is so, so much better than the first. I'm truly grateful that this chance worked out a bit.

Thanks for your kindness Tina. I saw one today at the pond. It was this tiny streak in the sky.
