Hi - I currently have the EOS 40D, which is doing exactly what it has done over the last 3-4 years beautifully.
However, technology has moved on a bit, so am considering a change.
The reasons I want to change are:
to get the extra 8mp higher resolution to crop in,
the higher max ISO to do better low light work,
inbuilt wireless flash
and have a go at HD DSLR video.
The 40D can do a fantastic burst frame speed, but I mostly do Portraits and landscapes so actually don’t use the speed.
With the fully loaded battery grip, I actually find the 40D a bit heavy going and don’t fit the grip for landscape work, so would actually prefer a lighter camera.
I’ve noticed that 600D (T3i) prices are dropping dramatically now the 650D is out – would a xxD user be happy with a 600D instead or would I miss the superior build, controls and pentaprism of the xxD series, and if not would the 600D be a good move from a 40D?
All advice gratefully received.
Kind Regards
Malc
