50Dfirmware update

I am trying to update my firmware to .09
I download the firmware to my cf card asper instruction on checking disk utility I see the update on the cf card. When I put the card into my 50D it cannot see the update. Can anyone help please

Do you have the *.fir file in the root directory of the CF card? It shouldn't be in the DCIM folder or anywhere else but in the root.
