A proper noun is a "name used for an individual person, place, or organization, spelled with an initial capital letter, e.g" My name is Henk. and I believe "It is all in the eye of the beholder....."

The plant common name has to conform to the rules of English, however, so if there’s a proper noun in the common name, it must be capitalized.
