Ruler/tape measure.

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."

None of the above, but the object could be considered a measuring device.

Good job!

Yeah, that one was fun. :)

QUOTED IMAGE

I used to shoot a lot of macro, so when I stumbled across this thread I thought I'd take a look. But a lot of the images don't look like macro images at all. They just look like highly magnified crops of normal images with a high degree of distortion which makes them look blurry and out of focus. Am I missing something here??

When I take a macro at 1:1 or even larger (either using MPE65 or 100Macro + Kenkos) the images come out razor sharp.

If I'm missing the point of this thread, let me know. If it's truly about Macro, I'd like to play. But if it's just about taking a picture and magnifying/cropping part of it, well, I'll pass.

Pretty sure this isn't just a crop of the pic below.

No.

---------------

"Mr. Cranium," some people using this thread, maybe all of them, have better macro equipment than I, but you're right, most of the initial photos are fuzzy. Sharper ones would be nice. When it's my turn, I take a shot using macro mode on a general-purpose camera (G15) and post a crop of it, usually a tiny piece. I think that practice qualifies.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

Not gordito, tape, bottle, or knob.

The photo shows a small part of a very common type of manufactured object. You probably have at least one such object in your home. Objects of this type are also used in nonresidential buildings. Some are found outdoors.
