This here ignoramus doesn't know how to deduce the size of the object from the information "2:1." The photo on my screen is 11 inches wide. Was the photographed scene, then, 5.5 inches wide?

(Answer in red below. Read on if interested.)

The 1:1 refers to the projection onto the sensor, so a one inch subject would take up 1 inch on the camera sensor (if the sensor was that large).

2:1 means 0.5 inch subject would take up 1 inch on the sensor.

The width of the my camera's sensor is 22.2 mm wide.

This means the subject is 22.2/2 = 11.1 mm wide

25.4 mm in a inch so it's

11.1/25.4 = 0.44 inches wide that you see on your monitor
