I think the OP is referring to the pre-digital era telephoto zoom, not the current gen models.

Old lens, not as great as the other old lens, 70-210 f3.5 ...there are many that are better.

You can try the 55-250...

there's a 70-210 f3.5 on FM board for a good price.

I'm leaning toward primes and can pick up the 135 after selling the sigma but with money left over I could pick up one of these for cheap to maintain some zoom which would be mainly for outdoor zoo type stuff

Why would you get that lens with the Sigma 70-200 in your kit already?

Read my post above. Just a pondering Idea. Didn't know if anyone had any experience with one. Heck you can pick one up for 120 bucks, might do it just to try it out.

Oops. Missed that. I clicked the reply button before that post was made, but took several minutes to post as I walked away from the computer for a bit.

Having owned the 135L myself, I can tell you that you probably won't have any desire to put a lens like the 70-210 on there after you shoot with the 135L.

The 70-210 f4 is really nothing to bother with if you have another lens in that range. Push/pull zoom, AFD motor, mediocre image quality.
