This one seems to have the right stuff for image processing.

Let me know what you think?

Thanks

I guess what I am asking is do you feel this one has good enough system specs to easily handle photoshp CS 6?
I would hate to get it (good price) and then find out it needed more of this or a better graphics card etc etc.

Thanks

Karl

I'd think so, depending on how big the images are you want to edit…

No idea about the quality of the screen though. I'd rather get a smaller laptop for portability and add an external screen…

That has a 1600 x 900 resolution screen which is ok. Not sure how true the color representation will be. It also has integrated video with shared memory although it will use up to 1.6GB. Not sure if that will give you fast enough rendering or not in CS6

That's a Core i7 system w/ 8 gigs of RAM, and what looks like an Ivy Bridge chipset. So there's little question that it has plenty of processing power, quite enough for most Adobe multimedia apps. The only question is whether the screen is sufficient, to know that it's best to actually see it in person.

That, or get yourself a nice color-true external monitor to work off of.

Here are the spec's for this laptop.
Do you think the monitor is decent?
I am curious what you may think of the monitor.

I do have this coming next week.
It looks to be a decent price.

Thanks!

There's not enough information to say. Given you've bought it already there's not much point speculating.

Really?
Not enough info?

The monitor info doesn't tell you enough about whether it's adequate?

I can always return this to Office Depot if it's inadequate.
It was a Saturday to Saturday flyer sale.
Soooo, I wanted to see what you all thought.
After hearing about all the bogging down problems with LR 4, I wanted to see some opinions.

What do you mean by image processing? The laptop is obviously OK for collecting files from a reader and putting them into LR/PSE/PS...etc. You can use the native screen for culling images that are out of focus, bad composition...etc. But if you want to do detailed post processing with color management, I would suggest you want at least a 25" monitor with high resolution that is color calibrated.

IMHO, even a Retina MBP display does not replace a 27" or 30" high resolution monitor that is color calibrated.

I'm in the market for a new laptop too and my head is hurting from looking at them...

It is mostly for capture in the field....or allt the work flow to printing? If it is for the full workflow, will it have an external monitor back at the desktop. If so, that should mean focusing on CPUs, memory, internal storage, and external ports (USB 3, thunderbolt..etc.).

I'd like to have do all, personally. But I am sure that would be pricey...I'd like it to be sub $1000 but I am sure that's wishful thinking...lol.
The smarter thing I should do is invest in upgrading my desk top and monitor for pp but a laptop would be nice.

Ahhh....wishful thinking.

Sorry for the thread hi-jack!
