This is true, but i often take long-exposures at/after sunset.. where the change of available light drops rapidly( enough that it can change 1/3 stop in that time). I just turn off and back on quickly. I guess if i'm 1/2 way through the exposure, i might wait.... but more times than not, i realize i did/didn't do something.. 1-3 seconds in. Kel

I haven't tried taking out the battery in the middle of an exposure though. Exactly. The camera will not "shut down/crash" if you turn it off, it will finish what was started(exposure) by stopping the current action and then writing the file to memory...THEN it turns 'off'.
