Luma Cinch - black dye on leather rubbing off?

Just received my Luma Cinch strap today. I'm very happy with the design and construction, this strap works great and will be replacing my Herringbone Hand Strap.

However, I noticed black marks on my white t-shirt and fingers. After further inspection, I found out that the leather grip (the part that changes the strap length and has its logo) rubs off black dye. I did manager to clean it with a rug.

Has anyone else noticed that with their Luma Cinch? I guess the dye hasn't dried out yet.

I just received mine a few days ago and had the same black
residue - it has gone away though :) The other thing is trying to get it dialed in
to the right length and feel. I spent awhile messing w/ it lol.

This was in another thread on the Cinch. I did experience a very small amount of black residue as well in the first couple of days, but it has gone away since. I also haven't experienced any loss in color of the leather grip either! :)

Here's the link to the other thread:

Mine had this problem for the first few times I used it, then it went away, I assume its just excess dye.

Darth, I'm currently thinking of a way to take a nice picture of mine, once I get an idea I'll have proof of ownership ;)

Black shirt and black gloves will absolutely solve that!

Ordered one 10 hours ago and just got an email telling me its shipped with the membrane. Nice. I was expecting 5 days before shipping.

Anyone want to buy a black rapid rs-sport?

Ordered mine on Monday and it arrived today... Definitely something to get used to but so far I am a fan... That said mine also has some ink coming off of the leather pull tab but I managed to get most of it to come off applying / removing some gaffers tape.
