Just a quick post to let everyone know Richard Atkin Photography was using my work as his own on his facebook page. If I was looking for a wedding photographer in the North Yorkshire area - well, I wouldnt use Richard.

I found a photo of mine on his facebook page that he was claiming as his own. What a fraud!

Send a note to Gary Fong, he'll likely stir up some publicity for you.

I'm guessing the low life thieving mongrel dog thought he'd be safe from being outed as he was in a completely different country. What a dog act!

I dont want this to turn into a witch hunt (we already know where he is!) but a bit of bad press will hopefully make Richard (or anyone) think twice about doing this kind of thing again.

He seems to be a member of the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers. I'm sure they have some sort of bylaws that frown on this. Why not report him?

Yes I have contacted them and asked him to be removed from the organisation

It's difficult to collect damages in the UK, you have to show actual damage. Better to just expose dishonest people.

OP, you listed somebody else's photography website. The photographer in question is Richard Atkin, not Richard Atkinson!

I do find it odd though the he has both completely nude women posted very close to photos of kids playing and running.. Just not appropriate. There needs to be some separation.

Absolutely. I just hope as many people see he's not an honest person and dont hire him for their wedding or portrait shoot.....or at least they only view HIS work when deciding to hire him or not!

I wonder how many other shots on the page don't belong to him

I'd say a few.....there are some that have a very different look so I'd put money on those.

I honestly wonder what clients say after their wedding..... "Um, Richard these arent quite the same as what we saw on your website?!"

Wow

My desire is for each photograph to reveal a story.

Each photograph does indeed reveal a story!!

I had a quick google of them - it would seem if there were other stolen images they've nearly all* been removed.

The standard on his website is typical newbie - all over the place. The studio stuff is an OK standard, the wedding stuff is a bit underdeveloped, except a small number of images of one bride which are clearly not a real wedding - whether he set them up personally or they were from a workshop.

*more later
