You are going to laugh at this but I store it in a large wool sock with the hood mounted backwards on the front of the lens. It is a good fit, gravity gets it to slide down to the toe and out when I need it. Fits nicely in the camera bag and is very easy to find quickly.

Good cheap method of protecting it... I like it!

My first post. I got the Canon 10-22 as a Christmas present and it came with a pouch (LP1319) in the same box with the lens.

That's odd. Did someone other than Canon put it in there?

Naipes - welcome to the forum. I hope you will learn a lot here and have some fun along the way.

I've heard that some non-USA markets have the pouch, and sometimes the hood, included. But since we don't see them in the 'gray market' versions that are available, the only thing I can think of is the Japanese version. They are sometimes the third variant (e.g. - Digital Rebel, 300D, Kiss Digital)

Have Fun,

Rick

My "Grey" market 10-22mm did not come with a hood. In fact you will not be able to get the hood into the box it's quite tight just for the lens.

Any hoods or lenses showing up for these things must be happening at the store level.

I don't have the pouch, but I'd have to assume the thing must be huge to hold the hood.

My Grey market instructions even state Hood and Case sole seperately.

Well neither did my American market lens. It's not a big deal to me though, I never use those pouches to store the lenses anyway.
