What is a better lens for taking photos of the Blue ANgels while in flight. The Canon 400mm 5.6 or the Canon 100-400. I plan on taking my 24-70 and my 70-200 also.

100-400 so you can adjust on the fly for different formations...

I used canon 100-400 before and it's most useful lens in airshow.

100-400 will be excellent
the 70-200 (2.8 or 4.0) are also quite good, especially if you have a good location

Plus 1 for the 100-400L, that's what i use and it's perfect. However take the 24-70 for some close-ups on the deck. These where all taken with a 100-400L. Hope this helps a bit.
