Have someone willing to sell me a 70-200mm F4 NON IS lens.
He asked 500 and I talked him down to 450 but I don't really want to pay more than 425 for it. Is this a good deal on the lens and hood?
I wouldnt say its a perfect 10 but it is in quite good shape! What would you pay for it?

So far I've got a 50mm 1.4 which I paid 225 for
and a 100mm (non L) which I paid 250 for. So I like DEALS :-)

how does the quality compare to the 100mm and the 50mm?

5d3, 50mm 1.4, 70-200mm F4 L, 17-40mm F4 L
But hey, they say it's not the gear right:rolleyes:

$450 is a good deal if it's in good shape.

^+1. What's the point of owning a $3K body with cheap lenses? Glass > camera.
Beef it up and get a 70-200 2.8 MK II. Lol.

seems like a good price, but i like deals too. if it were me, there are so many 70-200 f4 non is out there i would hold out for a price you feel like you cant pass up.

for example i just picked up a great condition canon 50 1.4 or $220, i felt like i could not pass it up especially since i was in the market for a 50 1.4...

i dont know about your local CL, but i see tons of 70-200, so dont feel bad waiting for a price where you feel like you are getting a Great deal. (thanks assuming you dont need it right away)

Hmm... If you read that I couldnt afford it, maybe you should check your vision.
I like to get deals on things. What does me owning a 5d3 have to do with my lens purchases? You folks kill me

Well the old adage lenses over body comes to mind, and seeing your attitude over a $25 price differential for a great lens while owning a $3500 body is most likely the source of the questions.

With that said... For everyone who owns a 5D3, you better own L lenses for it!

Please accept my apology for being so ignorant to this rule.

You've completely missed my point. Its not about whether you have L lenses or not; its about the fact that you seem to be quibbling over a mere $25 for a lens when you spent over $3000 on the body alone.

But I'm just answering your question as to why people were acting the way they were about your 5d3, you're free to do whatever you want IMO.

I like deals on things too but treating someone fairly as a buyer is important as well.

The seller may need the extra $25 way more than you do!
