My father-in-law recently died and I was cleaning out his work shop this weekend and found an old "We Sell Kodak film" sign. It's good sized and illuminated with this colored spinning wheel that feeds light thru plastic spaghetti like tendrils to the sign - kind of like fiber optics. Colored wheel spins, but the light is missing and it's got the strangest light socket I've seen, with a little paper pasted to the back of it with "Mr. Retailer: for replacement of this bulb please write Mechtronics Corporation, 59 Commerce Road, Stamford, Conn. 06902".
I've attached a photo of the socket here, anyone seen a bulb that might fit this? I tried calling Mechtronics, haven't gotten ahold of anyone yet. I don't think they're in the business they were when this sign was produced.

when we need the wierd bulb in hardware stores we use a company called Satco. here is a link to a FAQ section they have, scroll down and I think there is a bulb base that may match your socket.

That looks like something out of the 60's, so who knows if it is still around, bulb-wise, that is, and nice piece of history.

If you can't find a bulb, you might consider replacing it with a fluorescent bulb, or a LED, you'd just have to cut a couple of wires and figure how to wire it, it wouldn't be hard with the right knowledge. (I'd take it to an electrician anyway, to be safe) Maybe even one of the newer spiral bulbs, all you'd have to do is to wire in a new socket, that'd be really easy.

I'm really sorry about your Father-in-Law, by the way.
