Nevermind, I just signed up for Ebay Bucks AFTER I made my purchase. Hopefully, I'll still get the money. If not, oh well.

I'd like to know as well if you can point me in the right direction.

you most likely won't be able to spend your ebay bucks right away. your bucks accumulate for like 2-3 months or something...then you have about a month to spend them. Just buy something on ebay, and when you go to checkout you'll see that your ebay bucks are applied to it the payment. :)

You guys probably going to receive an email from Beach Camera, letting you know that the camera is sold out. They now have one with kit lens, but that would be $4159 instead.

canon does this sort of price manipulation. Got a brand new 5D2 for 1600 ish... I must resist the temptation though. I see another ebay ad for new 5D3's for the same price......

That's a 20% drop. According to CanonPriceWatch, it took the 5D2 18 months to achieve those reduction levels.

The market has changed drastically.

Posted back to $3499.99, around 200 sold. Good while it lasted.

Curiosity got the best of me!

FWIW, I e-mailed Beach Camera through their web site asking if the ebay account belonged to them and if so, why the drastic price difference between the site and online store. Here is the response (in less than 2 hours I will add):

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting us.

We are the same as the Beacch camera that you see on EBAY. If the price is cheaper on EBAY, please make your purchase on EBAY. They are the same exact items. The only way that we can offer them for less on EBAY is because EBAY gives us some money back for selling this item on their website.

Sincerely,

xoxo -Sales Management

You will not.

You need to call ebay, and tell them what happened and how you were uniformed.

If you get a good CS representative you will get the full $56.xx (or whatever it is) RIGHT AWAY as a credit to your account (you will not have to wait for the 3 months or whatever it is to use it). If you get a poor CS representative they will give you $20 promotion to use right away as well.

How do I know? I made the same mistake on the previous 5D3 sale. Called them, told CS I'm an idiot, he said the most he can do is $20, but he'll talk to his manager, and his manager approved the full $60.xx that I was owed. Bought another battery the next day.
