For one of the cameras, I received the shipping notification yesterday, and received the camera today.

Still haven't received shipping notification for the second body.

Uck -- first day of outdoor shooting and my joystick tore off and it's nowhere to be found (not that I would be able to repair it myself anyway). Nothing dropped or abnormal happened -- just had my camera hanging on my Black Rapid strap, just like what I've been doing with my 5D2 forever. The rubber material around the joystick looks defective. Just beware in case this defect is common to this batch of 5D3s.

Wow, I haven't seen that before. Don't worry though. Canon will take care of you. But sorry to hear that you're dealing with this on a new camera. I hope it "gets well" soon!

I've seen a few others online so it's not so uncommon unfortunately. Better to happen under warranty than later, I guess.

Thanks Bryan -- not too worried, it's just a little hassle but I'm confident in either Beach or Canon taking care of the issue.

I've seen the same complaints with the Nikon D4, first time I've seen the joystick issue with the 5D3.

Keep us posted with the joystick repair. Really sucks being brand new.

That is a bit complicated.

Did anyone bought from this exact deal as original post here(5Diii form authorized dealer for $2799), on ebay?

Seems 159 are sold and don't rush, deal is over. (Only a better one to show up soon).
