HI,

You stated the lexar 1000X card was getting hot. I sugguest you contact our support group at www.lexar.com (external link), click on the chat and speak to agent. Let them know you ahve a pro sereis card and it is getting hot with inmtermitent problems, we would lick to get the card back to evaluate the card. You can also email me at demwilliams@lexar.com (external link)

I've only ever used these 1000x cards on the 1Dx, I was wondering if there were any documented problems that came to the attention of Lexar, either with the camera firmware or compatibility ?

Hello, No we do not have any reported problems with our 1000X cards. We do extensive compatibility testing on all professional series card, and I have not heard of any issues with the camera firmware or compatibility. We will be glad to get your card replaced for you, no problem and like I stated we would like to get that card so we can take a close look at it. We have your camera model along with several hundred other pro series cameras that we do compatibility testing before a product is released. You can reach us through our pro support for a RMA at 1-877-747-4031, or you can email me at demwilliams@lexar.com (external link) and I can get you a RMA to send the card in for replacement. Kind Regards

No issues on 5D III

I also bought a set of 2x 32g 1000cf that was on sale and so far using it on the 5D III I have no issues.

I lent my friend my D800 and will use the other card for the D800.

Have 2x transcend 32g 600x cf no issues on the canon or nikon either.

I bought the 1000x cf lexar's for the speed when I need to shoot raw continuous.

Hey guys

I am having the same problems here in New Zealand with the new Lexar 1000x Cards in a Canon 1D mkIV. It looses contact with the card and brings up an error asking to remove and reinsert the card. Not good if you are in the middle of a sports game.

Lexar replaced the first card and the replacement did the same thing before it died completely. They are trying to find out why..

Good luck

Marty

I've gone back to my sandisk extreme pro's which have never missed a beat, the extra speed is useful but not if the reliability is the issue, just can't take the risk.

I'm no techie, but sounds more like a problem in your camera slot.

I have 3 Lexar 1000x cards and have had no problems.

Nope, I don't think it is. I have a stack of Sandisk cards of all sizes and speeds and none of them miss a beat. So is a bit of a mystery..

Hi Marty, did you send in the card so that we here at Lexar can take a close look at the card. One thing you may want to look at is, the camera card edge connector in the camera card slot so that you have covered all the possibilities. If you have already sent the card in and the replacement card is showing the same issue please let us know ASAP!.

Kind Regards

I bought the two pack professional 1000x, one card works, the second card displays a message that I should reinsert or format the card.

The message is displayed on both my cameras canon 1D MKIV and 1DX in both slots.
My macbook pro is unable to read the card either.
Recovery software can't read the card, but Photo Mechanic does recognize the card.....

I just bought 2 Lexar 1000X 16 gB cards and have used one so far, and on day two got the err 02 message, reformat or reinsert the card. I have a 1D4. I took the card out and reinserted it, and so far so good. I have downloaded files twice since then without further problems, but the first time it happened was annoying. I hope the second card doesn't do this, I don't need grief from expensive cards like this.

Hey Dem

Both cards have been returned to the Lexar agents here. I believe they will be sent on to you guys in the States to have a look at. The second card is completely dead and won't load on anything.

Probably won't seek a replacement at this stage. Will just wait and see what happens.

Thanks so much for the reply.

Regards

Marty

QC at Lexar must be pretty poor if these sort of problems are creeping in with the 1000x cards

Havent faced any issues with the Lexar 1000x still, using a 16gb Lexar 1000x for several months now and it was decent in quality.

I haven't had a problem yet with mine, but the number of folks reporting issues here is definitely alarming. I've been a die-hard SanDisk fan for years, but decided to switch over to the Lexar 1000x when I got the 5D Mark III due to the increased speed.

Lexar customer service gets an A+++++

I had the Error 2 problems on a pair of 1000x 32GB CF Professional cards.... I dropped an email to Demaris Williams on this post.... He sent me a RMA and asked me to return the cards.... I sent them in on Saturday by priority mail. They got there on Tues.

On Weds, Demaris actually calls me..... (Note, never got a phone call from Canon or Nikon when I've sent items in for repair... Well or from anyone else for that matter)...

He explains they tested the cards. They ran them in a 1D4 with the same firmware. Then they put them in a tester. After running all night, one card had a bad block that should have locked itself out on the reformat in the camera (which I do after I download a card). I said I wasn't really sure if one or both cards were giving me trouble, since I was kind of busy shooting the Air Races in Reno at the time and shot about 12 32GB cards that day...

Demaris said NO PROBLEM, we are sending out 2 new cards to be sure you have "peace of mind, Lexar wants you to be happy". He did say with Christmas around the corner they probably wouldn't be able to get out until tomorrow.... I said NO PROBLEM...

I go back to work....

Phone rings 30 minutes later and said cards were in the mail, one coming from east coast and one from west coast so I needed to watch out for 2 packages. I said thanks...

Well.... Lets see... He didn't have to call me the first time. I can imagine he has a lot to do as it stands. Next once card wasn't bad, he didn't have to replace that and I wouldn't have been unhappy if he didn't. last he didn't have to call me back to say they were coming from separate warehouses (which would have saved me the call asking why I only got one card instead of 2 if they arrived on separate days)....

I can say Demaris Williams went WAY WAY WAY above and beyond the call of duty to keep his customers happy. If someone from Lexar who signs bonus checks happens to read this, please see he gets a bigger one...

I can say that I have a couple Lexar 600x cards and they are fast. The 1000x cards are BLISTERINGLY FAST. With this kind of service, screw SAN@@@@, I'll work with Lexar cards from here on out......

Thanks Demaris.....
