I am not a moon photographer. Yet this is MY moon. My blue moon.

And while many slept or were otherwise oblivious to the astronomy around them, the fact remains that many failed to appreciate that they are nothing but a spec of dust on the tip of the fingernail of g-d in one of a billion universes. Don’t worry – it’s cool. You can see it again on July 21, 2015.

But because I love POTN, my friends, I took this picture for you. Canon 1DX, 300mm with 1.4 Extender – 420mm, at f/11 and 1/125 at ISO 100. On a tripod.

I will now sleep tonight having fulfilled my misssion. Good night.

Wow Harrison, that's quite a diatribe.
That aside, your shot is either way oversharpened, or just very noisy.

I think it was over sharpened. You are absolutely correct.i should have left well enough alone but tried to play with it too much.

So I don't care what color the moon is. Sue me. It doesn't look very blue in your photo anyway.

I did not see that thread. Ive never even been in this subforum. Between the excitement of my first moon photo and the many glasses of wine last night at an event i attended prior to the entire shoot and posting I was not paying too much attention. ;).
