I never thought there would be a time when I had too much lens. I was shooting this eagle sitting in a tree with my 300mm and the 1.4 TC when another car pulled up and decided to walk up to the tree and get the eagle to fly. This is a full frame shot and I just barely clipped the wingtip on the left side. I did have to do some dodge & burn to show the detail on the underside but the rim light on the front of the wings is exactly how the original looks.

Thanks Steve and Jgunn.
Hey Joe. How are things with you? If we have a colder winter there should be some eagles head down your way. Last winter was so mild I do not think they went much further south than Smithville in any great numbers.
I am going to be close to your neighborhood in October. A fellow photographer asked me to help him with a photo workshop in the Eminence area. I am looking forward to it. I was there a few years back and it rained the entire time. The scenery was great and I have been wanting to get back there.

Dale
Things are picking up here, I am doing a lot of freelance stuff for a local tv station. shooting HS sports about 2x per week.
There a few resident eagles here, just south of town is a power plant that warms the lake, during winter you can find eagles there almost every day. But nothing beats Squaw creek for eagles around here. worth the drive!
Many cool spots down here that I hope the fall color will show bright for me. Alley springs, Taney como and a few other spots call to me to come check them out.
