Recently we ditched pp'n on laptops and I built His & Her matching desktop beasts
Well, they are beasts compared to the laptops. Also, upgraded from the laptop LR 2 to LR 4.1, IPS monitors, Spyder Pro 4. Basically wanted to do it right. On top of all this, I've been watching YouTube tutorials to get the most out of PP'n in LR4 and/or Photomatix.
The pics are nice & vibrant on the desktop, but have a rather lack of contrast on the laptops. I hope this is just the difference between a calibrated monitor and a basic screen.
I would love to hear from those who are on calibrated setups. I actually had quite a few pp'ed from my laptop. But, after learning some new techniques and perhaps the new setup I am seeing drastic improvements on reworked images.
These are from our trip to Yellowstone in fall 2011 and thanks for any feedback that can help improve my pp'n.
These are also copied from flickr, so not sure how much IQ is knocked off. Looking at the thread preview they lack a lot of the contrast before moving from the desktop. The desktops are not (and have no plans on doing so) connected to the internet.
