Recently we ditched pp'n on laptops and I built His & Her matching desktop beasts   Well, they are beasts compared to the laptops. Also, upgraded from the laptop LR 2 to LR 4.1, IPS monitors, Spyder Pro 4. Basically wanted to do it right. On top of all this, I've been watching YouTube tutorials to get the most out of PP'n in LR4 and/or Photomatix.

The pics are nice & vibrant on the desktop, but have a rather lack of contrast on the laptops. I hope this is just the difference between a calibrated monitor and a basic screen.

I would love to hear from those who are on calibrated setups. I actually had quite a few pp'ed from my laptop. But, after learning some new techniques and perhaps the new setup I am seeing drastic improvements on reworked images.

These are from our trip to Yellowstone in fall 2011 and thanks for any feedback that can help improve my pp'n.

These are also copied from flickr, so not sure how much IQ is knocked off. Looking at the thread preview they lack a lot of the contrast before moving from the desktop. The desktops are not (and have no plans on doing so) connected to the internet.

I like the entire series here, Colors are crisp indeed, compositions are pleasing,I like that barn alot. The last is also very good.Could just be me, but the foliage does look a tad sharp.not the last photo, but when the fir trees are in the frame.
Very nice.

you're a great friend, but if Zombies chase us, I am tripping you.

Nice images, #4 is my favorite. Nice combination of perspective and color.

Looks like HDR or tonemapping was done on some or all of these. There are halos in 1 and 3.

LOVE the last one. I have to get to the park soon, I'm over in Bozeman! Not even 2 hours away... Seriously though number 4 really speaks to me, great job.

I'm sorry but the first one hurts my eyes....
the saturation is over done ..makes the colors not real.
the yellows are over done. and they seem overexposed to me.

I like the last one though.

This is one of those places in the world that 'I will' visit.
I've seen documentaries on the Yellowstone & to me it seems just an incredible place.
Nice shots too!!
