I just saw this somewhere and thought it applied to wedding photographers as well:

A guy called the Musicians' Guild to get a quote on a 6 piece band for a wedding. The rep says, "Off the top of my head, about $2000." the guy says "WHAT? FOR MUSIC?" th e rep responds, "I'll tell you what. Call the Plumbers Union and ask for six plumbers to work from 6 'til midnight on a Saturday night. Whatever they charge you, we'll work for half."

So they call the photographers' guild and ask for six photographers and get 80% off the quote.
Or they call a GWC and get photos for free
I'm one of those GWC's I should be moaning

That's a REALLY good one! :D:D:D
Funny, but... really something to think about when it comes time to pay up on certain things...

The moral of the story is that the plumbers appear to be smart enough not to discount their product. I've had to call on new plumbers and one that have years of experience and their prices are consistent within a few percent. Some have the basic tools while others show up with the best tools one can buy. If you are going to call yourself a plumber they charge like they are a plumber.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Went to one of those weddings - somehow the song "Roxanne" by Sting ended up playing as the bride walked down the isle. Not an ideal choice ;)
