Hey Guys, new to the forum, and to trying Macro type shots.

My wife's flowers looked to be good candidates so....

The below flowers are shot using my Sigma 50-150mm lens with my new Vivitar extension tubes (to try and use it as a Macro lens). Also didn't use a tripod yet so they may not be as sharp as could be.

They have not been edited in anyway (as I am sure it shows).

I hope to get an actual 'Real' Macro lens, but until then I will try and use what I have.

Any suggestions using what I currently have?

Thanks in advance.

Good first captures. Main thing is just to practice using them and get used to the DOF or lack of it.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the info. I plan on trying some more shots using my tripod and remote cord.
Hopefully using that I will get a little bit better stuff on the second go round.

They are not bad shots, not in comparison with mine from a year ago. Keep enjoying it, I am sure the techniques will get fine tuned.

good shots, using the tubes takes some practice. I have a Kenko set and I find using the live view and zooming in the view for precise focus helps(I am not familiar with the 40D features for live view), tripod is needed 99% of the time.
