5D2 pattern noise

I have been shocked to see the amount of pattern noise my 5D2 produces. I have been processing a few shots of the aerial displays at Bournemouth Air Show and its painful.

Heres a 100% crop example. Shot at ISO 200 and completely untouched other than cropping to show it here. See what I mean?

Am I being unreasonable to expect my 5D2 to produce less pattern noise than this?

How under exposed what this shot? or can you post the original? (Upload it to imgur.com ) and just post a link.. Ill try to re-create the same senario..

I've reduced the full size down to 3500 x 2333 pixels but otherwise its untouched, out of camera. The pattern noise is most visible in the darker cloud under the planes in this example.

As its a different image, heres a 100% crop from this shot.
