Only kidding. It was either call him horned or say that he was wearing a Mickey Mouse cap.

Thanks Ian. To my taste it looks way too square if left in landscape and way too tight on his tail side in portrait. Seeing that while it was being made I composed it with the pipe.

How about a square crop...Using high-tech cropping tools(my hands:lol:) to crop out the pipe and enough on the right to make it square, it looks really good...Just my opinion...Great shot though.

Now, Jo, I'm going to have to keep an eye out for that hybrid! ;)
Thanks so much.

Mark, thanks for your kind words and input. I tried square and it might simply be in my head, but square bothers me most of the time. It is the rare time I like it.

Somehow they know when you take their photograph and post something like this for everyone to see....I really think they do.

Excellent image and title for it.

I don't know, Lil, the composition isn't up to you usual standard. LOL But the uniqueness w/ the "horns" makes it a very worthwhile post. Great eye. As for the crop/composition, I might have tried cropping back to the pipe, clone out the flange and go from there. Anyway, always look forward to your posts.

A bad hair day often seems to be the norm for Herons. Nice shot Lillian.
